Conservatory Solar Coatings by Coolkote

CoolKote

Remember those summers when the suns heat went through the roof? Why wait for it to happen again? Get CoolKote fitted to your conservatory and enjoy the summer.

Nearly all conservatories have a heat and glare problem which makes them almost unbearable to use during the hot spring and summer months. Most of this problem is caused by the sun constantly shining upon the roof of your conservatory; this large expanse of roof glazing allows the sun to radiate the conservatory making it hot and uncomfortable. The solution to this is CoolKote. CoolKote is the only solar film suitable for application to polycarbonate roofs. There are many other ways of trying to solve the heat and glare problem within your conservatory these include:

Standard Blinds:
Fabric, pleated and vertical blinds all offer low forms of protection for your conservatory. This is because they can only absorb and re-radiate the heat meaning your conservatory will still get hot and uncomfortable.

Reflective Blinds

Blinds with a special reflective backing offer a better solution to the heat problem. Their higher performance means they reduce the heat slightly more than standard blinds. However their usually more expensive and still absorb and re-radiate heat.

Solar Inserts

Solar inserts are fitted inside the hallow of the twin polycarbonate roof. They are expensive and difficult to fit. Because they need to be inserted between the polycarbonate sheets the actual roof of your conservatory may need to be removed to place them inside effectively. This is typically true with Victorian Bell style conservatories.

Why use CoolKote?

CoolKote has been designed and developed especially for the application to internal polycarbonate, glass and plastic roofs. Once applied it requires little to no maintenance (the only advice we give is to clean with warm soapy water once a year to remove dust) and has high solar rejection and anti-glare properties. Its metallic surface gives a dramatic reduction in solar heat by continuously reflecting it away.

CoolKote F.A.Q (Frequently asked questions)

Q: How much heat will CoolKote stop?
A: Up to 70% of the heat normally passing though the glazing system

Q: How does it do this?
A: CoolKote works on the basic principle of reflecting heat away at source

Q: Does this mean that my conservatory will be cold in the winter?
A: No. CoolKote is normally applied to the roof. Because the winters sun is much lower in the sky it can still shine in through the windows allowing your conservatory to warm naturally

Q: Will CoolKote make my conservatory dark?
A: CoolKote adds a pleasant tint to the roof, in much the same style as tinted polycarbonate now available. The only difference is that CoolKote keeps out the heat and is not for appearance only

Q: Will CoolKote reduce fading of curtains and furnishings?
A: CoolKote keeps out both ultraviolet (UV) and infrared rays, which are the major cause of fading. Your furniture, carpets and curtains will be protected and have a much extended life. On that point alone CoolKote could pay for itself.

Q: How long will CoolKote last?
A: CoolKote is a long-lasting treatment and will give you years of satisfaction. We guarantee CoolKote for 10 years when applied internally or up to five years when applied externally

Q: How long will it take to install CoolKote?
